  • I had the opportunity to interact with Vishnu yesterday and for sure I will make Gargash my first port-of-call for all future insurance needs. We had something to be done urgently which, in a nutshell, required the policy to be issued within a span of a few hours.

Upon our request, Vishnu pulled out all the stops in order to make this happen - right from understanding our exact need, recommending the right products, processing the paper-work and issuing the medical card ALL was done within a span of a few hours.

What was great was his responsiveness and driving a consistent feedback loop through emails and phone calls. Unlike others who keep repeating SLAs/Time-lines etc, Vishnu was a delight to work with.

Thank you Vishnu, for all that you did yesterday

FAQ about Pravasi Protection Plan

1. What is the Pravasi Protection Plan (PPP)?

The Pravasi Protection Plan (PPP) is a safety net for families of expatriate workers in the UAE. Primarily a life insurance plan that caters to Indian expatriate workers, its benefits can be extended to workers of other nationalities as well.

In case of a worker's death from natural or accidental causes, on or off the job, the Pravasi Protection Plan provides financial compensation directly to their dependents or nominated beneficiaries. Developed in collaboration with the Indian Consulate, Orient Insurance, and Gargash Insurance Services, the Pravasi Protection Plan ensures peace of mind by safeguarding the financial well-being of workers' families in the event of an unforeseen accident or untimely death.

2. How does the Pravasi Protection Plan benefit workers, their dependents, and employers?

The Pravasi Protection Plan benefits workers by providing coverage that extends beyond workplace accidents to include even natural deaths and accidental disabilities, ensuring financial compensation for their families /dependents under any circumstance.
While some workers may have Group Medical insurance or Workmen's Compensation Insurance provided by their employer, these policies mainly cover accidents and injuries sustained in the workplace.

For employers, it is a low-cost initiative to enhance employee welfare, bridge gaps in coverage, and contribute to a financially resilient workforce.

3. What are the main differences between the Pravasi Protection Plan (PPP) and a Workmen's Compensation (WC) policy?
Workmen's Compensation Policy (WC)
  • Does not cover Accidental Death, outside work hours
  • Does not cover Permanent Total Disability (PTD), outside work hours
  • Does not cover Permanent Partial Disability (PPD), outside work hours
  • Coverage for Repatriation of mortal remains does not include travel expenses of family/relatives of the deceased
  • Employee receives compensation (except in case of death)
  • Mandatory for free zone companies
Pravasi Protection Plan (PPP)
  • Covers Death Due to Any Cause, Natural and Accidental
  • Covers Permanent Total Disability Due to Any Cause
  • Covers Permanent Partial Disability Due to Any Cause
  • Coverage for Repatriation of mortal remains includes travel expenses of family/relatives of the deceased
  • Beneficiary of the deceased receives compensation
  • Optional Coverage

Therefore, opting for the Pravasi Protection Plan along with an existing WC policy means you can claim compensation under both policies in the case of death/disability due to a work-related incident.
