In many ways the evolution and growth of the Gargash Group
is linked with that of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
The Gargash family began their trading activities in Dubai in
the last decade of the nineteenth century. In 1918, the late
Ali Gargash laid the foundation for what was to later emerge
as a leading trading house in the Arabian Gulf.
The activities of the Group include, among others, automobile
dealership, agency representation for multinationals, manufacturing,
real estate, financial services, etc.
The insurance roots of the Gargash group can be traced back
to the fifties when Gargash were appointed general agents of
the New Zealand Insurance Company for the United Arab Emirates
(the then trucial states). This arrangement in varying forms
carried on till the nineties.
In the nineties, the Group identified a market need for a locally
owned professional insurance broker. This resulted in the formation
of Gargash Insurance Services Company. From a small beginning
the company has grown from strength to strength in a spectacular
fashion. This phenomenal growth is the result of focussed approach
on professionalism and customer care.
Gargash Insurance Services is today one of the largest insurance
broking houses both in terms of premium and client base, with
one of the largest manpower resource in the insurance broking
sector. Apart from the main office in Dubai there are branches
in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi giving a wider reach and consequently
better service capabilities.
The Management Team has over 10 senior insurance professionals
with international qualifications and collective experience
of over 200 years. |
